Founded in 1998 with the desire to involve and empower the local Inuit population. With its concentration in the Kitikmeot Region, the 100% Inuit Owned Kitikmeot Air Ltd. has engaged in a number of strategic partnerships to better diversify its ability to service all the people of Nunavut. Those partnerships have increased the capacity to service a wider range of clients, both through the addition of Rotary Wing capabilities, and Larger Cargo/Bulk Fuel Air Transportation, while continuing the already successful King Air, and Twin Otter services it was built on.
